For many parents it is impractical to decorate their child's room in a particular design, with expensive designer items, only to replace them in two years because they had outgrown the design. It becomes an expensive exercise.

The Katydid designs began with the teddy bears, which was later altered to become the "Messy Little Teddies" design. Then came the "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Star Light" designs, followed by "Little Safari", "Beautiful Baby", "Funny Little Fairies", "All Aboard" and finally "Penguins on Parade." Katydid continues to work on new designs and will be adding to the range again soon.

Finding appropriate manufacturers proved a difficult task. The primary concern was quality. Katydid was not prepared to sell anything of less than excellent quality. The products had to be easy to use and look great when applied. The other consideration was price. It is extremely important to offer these products at a reasonable, affordable price. The reason to buy Katydid products over other products used to decorate children's rooms, is not only how the finished room looks, but how little it costs to achieve the results.
